Ryan Brault Selected to fill Vacancy on State Board of Education

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Pasco resident Ryan Brault has been selected to fill the vacant position on the State Board of Education. He brings to the board a lifelong commitment to improving education for all students.

Brault was selected Wednesday to serve out the remainder of an existing term until January 2018, when he would be eligible to run for election to retain the seat. He fills the Eastern Region, Position 2 on the 16-member State Board of Education.

On his election, Brault said, “I am honored to have been selected to serve on the State Board of Education. I look forward to helping the Board achieve its mission of supporting a high-quality educational system that prepares all students for college (or postsecondary training), career, and life.”

Over the years, Brault has served in many public service roles, including as a Pasco School Board member and former Board President, former Pasco Chamber of Commerce President, PEAK! (Partners in Educating All Kids – Business to School Partnership Program), Enterprise, and other volunteer positions in the Pasco School District. In 2010 he received the Community Leadership Award from SEWASA (South Eastern Washington Association of School Administrators).

He is a founding board member of Mirror Ministries and Co-Founder of Faith Justice Network and has volunteered for more than a decade with International Justice Mission, the largest anti-slavery organization worldwide. He is also a member of the Tri-Cities Sunrise Rotary, Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, past board member of Columbia Basin Badger Club, and a current board member of the Pasco Vocational Building Committee.

Brault received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Seattle Pacific University and is a Financial Advisor. He obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification after studying through the College for Financial Planning. In addition, he is also a graduate of Leadership Tri-Cities and Leadership WSSDA (Washington State School Directors Association). He and his wife, Jamie, grew up in the Tri-Cities and returned to Pasco after college. They have two children: Benjamin and Gracie.
