"The State Board of Education (SBE) applauds the Governor’s budget and appreciates its alignment with many of the priorities the Board has identified in our 2019-2023 Strategic Plan,” said SBE Board Chair Kevin Laverty. “In particular, SBE supports the emphasis on student well-being, including adequate funding for school counselors and social workers, the additional investment in special education, and the Governor’s spearheading of both the Career Connect Washington effort and the Washington College Promise program.”
