"As we transition to the new system of standards and assessments, it will be important that we keep the concerns of students and families at the center,” said Ms. Isabel Muñoz-Colón, Chair of the Board. "It is also critical that the Legislature’s goal of providing a world class education for all students be supported by an ample level of school funding.”
The Board will also be reviewing a study on indicators of educational system health, the progress of schools and districts under state ‘required action’ improvement plans, the performance of students exiting the Transition Bilingual Instructional Program, and the Board’s 2015 Legislative Priorities.
The Board meetings will begin at 8 AM on both days. Public comment period is scheduled at noon on Thursday, and 11:45 on Friday. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
