I addressed the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee on behalf of the State Board of Education in favor of SB 6061. It was a satisfying experience, and it was interesting to see how another legal body, focused on education, operates.Having the support of the State Board staff and executive director made it comfortable and not nearly as scary as it could have been! Representing the Board is always enjoyable, and it’s especially nice to have my voice heard as a student currently experiencing K-12 public education. After all, we all are here in favor of the students.
Listen to the testimony:
~ Mara Childs,
Student Board Member
