SBE Election - 3. Who can run for election to the State Board of Education?

A person is eligible to be a candidate for only one vacancy on the State Board of Education at a time.

Public School Candidates: must be a resident of the region represented by the position and meet the other qualifications established by RCW 28A.305.

SBE Election - 2. Who elects members to the State Board of Education?

SBE public school members are elected by the public school district directors within the region they reside. The SBE private school member is elected by approved private schools.

SBE Election - 1. What are the elected Positions and Regions for the State of Washington?

Eastern Region: Positions 1 and 2 (each four year terms) are elected from the Eastern Region, comprised of Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, Walla Walla, Whitman, and Yakima counties.
